I hope your Labor day weekends are relaxing and enjoyable. This is a rather late update but recently I’ve been nominated for the Liebster Award for new bloggers and I’m super stoked about it! I’m grateful to the wonderful Jennifer of the blog Until I Hold You Again, for this nomination and suggest you give her blog a read. It’s a lovely blog that is quite different from many I’ve come across, as the subject matter considers life, beliefs, loss, and human emotion in great depth and through very personal stories.
I commend Jennifer for opening up about her experiences; her blog is sure to bring comfort and a virtual shoulder to lean on to any who read it.
On to the award…..
Dubbed the “Newbie Blogging Liebster Award,” it is usually gifted to those with less than 200 followers by other bloggers as a means of blog growth, so, that’s pretty awesome.
- post award to blog
- answer the questions
- nominate a group of other new bloggers
- ask 10 new questions of the nominees
- thank the blogger who nominated you and link to their blog
So, here’s the Q+A:
Why did you start blogging?
Originally, my blog was a way for me to gather, sort, and just jot down my scattered thoughts. My original post really explained it all. Now, though, my blog has evolved into more than a organizational tool: it’s really truly been just another piece of me.
What do you find to be the most difficult part about blogging?
Honestly? Getting the posts up on time. There’s just so much life going on, and I’m the type that has to start something interesting as soon as it becomes interesting, and then, of course, something else comes up and I have to do that too! I have a hard time telling myself “no,” or “wait.” It’s such a struggle.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
Everywhere. Everything. Anything. Mostly just the fact that I can. For me, my motivation for most things in my life stem from the idea that I simply can, and nobody, not even myself can stop it from happening. I get inspired by the challenge. And then of course, once I’ve started, well then I’ve just got to do it!
What advice would you give someone thinking about starting a blog?
Do it. Just do it. Thinking about starting one is essentially the first step anyways.
What is your favorite aspect of blogging?
Hitting the publish button. It’s beyond rewarding.
What other hobbies do you have?
Um…. too many. I consider myself an eternal student. So, no matter what, I’m always enrolled or engaged in some type of learning activity, class, or new endeavor. It’s never ending, exhausting, and so so satisfying.
(jewelry making, crochet, pyrography, learning to sew, learning French and other languages on DuoLingo – because language + free == steal!, yoga, tai chi, reading, Harry Potter, etc. etc.)
If you could describe yourself as your favorite snack, what would it be and why?
Um…….. this is hard. I love nutter butters. But I also love marshmallows. And then there’s always Werther’s Original caramel candies. But you can’t forget Tootsie Rolls. I just, I can’t choose.
Let me just be the factory. Yeah, I wanna be the snack factory, because snacks are life.
How do you spend your free time?
Sleeping. I consider free time to be anytime that I’m not actively engaged in something, and that only occurs when I’m asleep. My life is go go go go go, collapse on bed, wake up and go go go again.
What quote best describes you and why?
This is a bushido (way of the warrior) quote from the Samurai of Japan. Honestly, I just love epic quotes, and I was so tempted to post a Harry Potter quote or Avatar quote, but there were too many good ones to choose from. Anyways, this quote speaks to me because it means that even while you’re literally all over the place, digging in your heels and doing what needs to be done to get things where they need to be, your head still needs to be in the right place.
It’s something I strive for, mental clarity in the midst of all my humanity.
Now the real fun stuff, the blogs I’ve nominated and my questions for you!
- What do you hope to accomplish through blogging?
- How do you keep yourself motivated to keep the blog up and running?
- Describe your ideal blogging environment.
- What frustrates you the most about blogging?
- What about blogging is the most enjoyable for you?
- How do you plan to improve yourself or your blog within the next year?
- If you had to pick just one super hero to save the world, who would it be?
- If you were a food item, what would you be?
- Any special quotes?
- Besides blogging, what other hobbies or professions take up your time?
Thanks again to Jennifer and the wonderful people who were nominated, and who follow this blog :). The blogging community is a really encouraging one and only continues to grow. I hope that I’ve introduced you to a new and interesting blog and blogger in doing this post. Stay awesome!
